prof. dr. Pamala Wiepking

Prof. Dr. Pamala Wiepking is Professor of Philanthropy at the Faculty of Social Sciences at VU University Amsterdam. She is also the inaugural Visiting Stead Family Chair in International Philanthropy at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Wiepking studies philanthropy and non-profit organisations from an international and interdisciplinary perspective. In doing so, she strives to collaborate with people from all over the world to achieve a more inclusive understanding and research of all forms of generosity. Her professorship at VU Amsterdam focuses on increasing insight into the effects of unrestricted, multi-year funding for the recipient.

In March 2021, she gave her inaugural lecture on accepting the chair ‘The social significance of charity lotteries’ at the Centre for Philanthropic Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. It can be viewed here.
